Psychogeography was a project that involved me getting in touch with a place that brought a lot of memories for me and my family. My home town of Mansfield was a very big mining area in the 80s and my father was very invested in the miners strike. Close to my house was the abandoned Clipstone Colliery that had been sitting to rust since it was closed down. I decided to focus my project on this area, pairing photography, illustration and sound to replicate the feeling of the place now and the feeling of it during the strike itself. When I presented this project, it was projected onto metal sheeting to replicate the signage inside the building.
